ALGIERS – Thursday, 06 July 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasized on Wednesday the State’s concern to provide Algerians with a good healthcare system, noting the need to develop health services up to international standards.

President Tebboune, who inaugurated the burns hospital in Zeralda (west of Algiers), named after the late mujaheed (war veteran) Dr. Said Chibane, as part of his visit to inspect some development projects in the provinces of Algiers, Boumerdes and Tipasa to mark the 61st anniversary of Independence and Youth Day, gave instructions to “raise the level of hospital healthcare services to international standards.”

In this regard, he stressed that “the State is keen to provide Algerians with a good healthcare system, by guaranteeing the financial support and equipment needed to achieve this objective.

“If the hospital manager decides, at a later date, that the hospital needs to be extended to accommodate a greater number of patients, a study will be carried and the necessary resources will be provided,” he assured.

The President of the Republic reaffirmed that “the public authorities spare no effort to ensure that citizens have good access to healthcare in their country”, pointing out that “the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital will further improve the healthcare system in our country.”
