ALGIERS – Monday, 26 June 2023 (APS) – On Monday in Algiers, the Algerian Petroleum Institute (IAP), under Sonatrach Group, and the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at stepping up technical cooperation in the field of training.
Chaired by Sonatrach CEO Toufik Hakkar and OAPEC Secretary General Jamal Aissa Al Loughani, the signing ceremony took place at Sonatrach headquarters, in the presence of Abdelkrim Aouissi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
IAP Director Abdelkader Guenoune and Al Loughani sealed the memorandum of understanding, which aims to intensify technical cooperation in the field of training, as well as the organization of workshops and conferences for OAPEC member countries.
IAP was selected from the training institutes of member countries, following the work of the 9th Coordination Meeting of Directors of Petroleum Training Institutes, held in September 2021, during which IAP presented its activities and 58 years of experience in the field.
Training sessions were organized in 2022 by the IAP for the benefit of over 100 learners from OAPEC member countries.
In parallel with the signing of the memorandum of understanding, a prize-giving ceremony was held for the winners of the 2020 scientific competition launched by OAPEC to encourage scientific research and innovation.
