TINDOUF – Thursday, 28 December 2023 (APS) – Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui, accompanied by a ministerial delegation, started Thursday a working visit to Tindouf (around 2000 km southwest of Algiers), devoted to an additional development program decided by the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune for this province.
The Prime minister was welcomed, upon his arrival, by the governor of Tindouf Mustapha Dahou, as well as by the local military and civil authorities.
Tasked by the President of the Republic, Larbaoui will meet, during this visit, representatives of the civil society to announce the additional program that will be added to the development program from which the province has benefitted.
The Prime minister will also enquire about the progress of the works of the railway line project which will link the city of Tindouf to Bechar, until Gara Djebilet mine.
The Council of Ministers, met on Sunday under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, approved the supplementary program for the province of Tindouf, for a total budget of DZD29.5 billion, added to the program under execution.
Tindouf’s additional program comprises 18 operations concerning seven sectors (Hydraulics, Urban Planning and urban improvement, Environment, Housing and Youth).
The President of the Republic gave instructions to immediately launch a detailed study in anticipation of the creation of a free trade area contributing to the diversification of economic activities and the creation of a dynamic in the region, notably along the borders between Algeria and Mauritania.
During his working visit to the province, the Prime minister will also enquire about the progress of the works of the railway line, an important project that will link the city of Tindouf to that of Bechar, until Gara Djebilet mine, and which constitute one of the bases of President Tebboune’s complementary vision.
