ALGIERS – Saturday, 16 December 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune sent a message of condolence to the Crown Prince of the brotherly State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, on the death of the Emir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the full text of which is given below:
“Who say, when struck by a disaster, surely to Allah we belong and to Him, we will all return. They are the ones who will receive Allah’s blessings and mercy. And it is they who are rightly guided.”

It is with great sadness and grief that we have learned of the sad news that has befallen the al-Sabah family and the brotherly Kuwaiti people, following the passing of His Highness the Emir of the State of brotherly Kuwait, Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
With his passing, we lose a brave and dear brother who contributed to the glory and development of his country, where he led with the al-Sabah family a glorious course that promoted our brothers in Kuwait to high levels of sustainable development and a dignified life in wisdom and foresight, with which he carefully surrounded the children of the State of Kuwait and ensured to play an honourable and sincere role towards the causes of the Arab-Muslim Nation.
History will remember our late Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah and the noble al-Sabah family for their outstretched hand in laudable efforts to close the ranks of the entire Arab-Muslim nation.
In the face of this painful ordeal inflicted on us by the Almighty, His Will being unstoppable, I extend my deepest condolences and compassion to the entire al-Sabah family and the brotherly Kuwaiti people, praying to the Almighty to grant you patience, serenity and comfort, and to the deceased, eternal life in paradise among the virtuous predecessors of the al-Sabah family and among the truthful, the martyrs, and the saints.
