ALGIERS – Tuesday, 11 July 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired Tuesday, at the Abdellatif-Rahal International Convention Centre (ICC) of Algiers, the opening of the first “Medal of Honour of Exports,” held under the theme “Commitment, achievements and perspectives.”

 

Themed “Commitment, Achievements and Prospects”, this year’s event is meant to award the best exporters over the last three years and to make known Algeria’s new policy in encouraging non-hydrocarbon exports.

During the ceremony, the President of the Republic announced that the High Council of Exporters would be set up “as soon as possible”.

Algeria’s non-hydrocarbon exports “are on the way to reaching US$13 billion,” asserted President Tebboune, who also announced the opening of new airlines serving African capitals.

On this occasion, the President of the Republic emphasized the need to “speed up the opening of free zones with Mauritania, Mali and Niger for agricultural products.”

The ceremony was attended by top State officials, members of the government, the representatives of professional associations and heads of public and private companies.
