ALGIERS – Wednesday, 10 August 2022 (APS) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra met, on Wednesday in Baku, in a working visit to Azerbaijan as Special Envoy of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov.
During this meeting, the two parties discussed the state and prospects of cooperative relations between the two countries and the means of their strengthening in all fields, said the ministry in a statement.
The two heads of diplomacy reviewed the security and political issues of common interest at the international and regional levels, insisting on the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries regarding their pioneering role in the organizations to which they belong, such as the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), particularly concerning international relations, added the source.
At the end of the working session, the two Foreign Ministers signed two agreements, the first relating to the creation of a political cooperative mechanism between Algeria and Azerbaijan, while the second aims to dispense the holders of diplomatic passports and mission entry visas to both countries.
