ALGIERS – Tuesday, 16 August 2022 (APS) – General Saïd Chanegriha, the chief of the Army Staff, took part Tuesday, via videoconference, in the 10th International Conference on Security held in Moscow, Russia, the ministry of National Defense said in a statement.
The chief of Army Staff, started his address by “thanking the Russian side for inviting him to take part in the works of the conference, which is an opportunity to exchange views and assess international security issues,” the statement said.
General Saïd Chanegriha said the conference “reflects the good will of the Federation of Russia to strengthen our relationship and is an opportunity for exchange of views and assessment of topics relating to international security.”
He also stressed “security challenges facing the African continent.”
“Africa, rich in resources with a population growth and considerable assets, such as biodiversity, underground resources, energy and water reserves, is facing a complex situation of politico-economic instability caused by numerous security and economic challenges.”
“This situation requires the support and assistance of the international community.”
