ALGIERS – Monday, 25 December 2023 (APS) – The director general of the Consular Affairs and National Community Abroad, in his capacity as head of the crisis unit set up at the ministry, received at the ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters on Sunday representatives of families from the Algerian community living in Gaza, the ministry said in a statement.
“In his capacity as head of the crisis unit set up at the ministry of Foreign Affairs, the director general of Consular Affairs and National Community Abroad received today at the ministry headquarters, representatives of families from the Algerian community living in Gaza, who raised concerns and questions about the evacuation of their relatives stuck in Gaza, expressing their worries about the conditions and risks due to the barbaric attacks of the Zionist occupation forces,” the statement said.
During this meeting, the director general of Consular Affairs and National Community Abroad assured that all necessary measures and provisions had been taken to successfully carry out the evacuation operation, in accordance with the instructions of our country’s high authorities, which attach extreme importance to monitoring the situation of our community in Gaza, the statement explained.
Those received were reassured, the statement said, that the situation of our community in Gaza is closely monitored, adding that the necessary measures and provisions have been taken at the ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Algerian embassy in Cairo, with a view to launching the evacuation as soon as the necessary passes are delivered via the Rafah Terminal by the Egyptian authorities.
