ALGIERS – Saturday, 23 September 2023 (APS) – The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral discussions with many of his counterparts, on the sidelines of his participation in the ministerial segment of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), the ministry said Saturday in a statement.
“As part of his participation in the ministerial segment of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Ahmed Attaf held today in New York bilateral discussions with many of his counterparts. He met successively with the Foreign Ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands, the Sultanate of Oman, Yemen, Eritrea and Venezuela,” the statement said.
The minister also received the ambassador of the United States and its permanent representative to the United Nations, Mrs. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the statement said.
The discussions were an opportunity “to tackle the prospects for the strengthening of relations between Algeria and those countries and prepare for the next bilateral events.”
