ALGIERS – Wednesday, 06 December 2023 (APS) – At a meeting held on Tuesday in Algiers, Algerian and Turkish economic operators discussed the joint investment opportunities in various sectors, with a view to strengthening the partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
Organized by the Arab-African Investment and Development Centre (CAAID), in cooperation with the Turkish Exporters Council and the Uludag Association of Turkish Exporters, the theme of the meeting was “Algeria-Turkey: bilateral trade negotiations.”
On this occasion, the President of CAAID, Mohamed Amine Boutalbi, said that the aim of the meeting was “to promote bilateral economic relations, by publicising the trade and partnership opportunities available on both sides” and “to promote the products of both countries, in addition to examining their investment potential.”
Among the most important sectors, the President of CAAID cited industry, machinery, wood products and textiles.
For his part, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Algeria, Mujahid Kucuk Yilmaz, said that this meeting “will help to improve Algerian-Turkish relations,” recalling the recent official visit to Algeria by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which led to the signing of several agreements.
In this regard, he called on Turkish exporters to “ensure value for money in order to achieve the goal of 10 billion dollars in trade between the two countries as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, Ertugrul Tuna arinci, member of the board of directors of the Union of Car Manufacturers in the Turkish region of Uludagh, hailed Algeria’s important status for Turkish operators, stressing “the need to strengthen and develop bilateral trade relations by exploiting the investment opportunities available in both countries.”
