ALGIERS – Wednesday, 22 November 2023 (APS) – The agreement signed between Sonatrach and Turkish company Botas on the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG), meant for the Turkish market, will stretch over three years, the national hydrocarbons company said Wednesday in a statement.
The agreement was signed Tuesday by the CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, and the CEO of the Turkish company Botas, Abdulvahit Fidan, in a ceremony at the headquarters of the presidency of the Republic, co-chaired by the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on an official visit to Algeria.
“Through this agreement, the two sides mainly agreed on extending their cooperation for three years, strengthening their long-standing partnership in the field of gas.”
Sonatrach has been supplying liquefied natural gas to Botas, a state-owned gas provider of the Turkish market, through long-term contracts since 1988.
