ALGIERS – Tuesday, 07 November 2023 (APS) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf held Tuesday, in Bucharest, long discussions with his Romanian counterpart Luminita Odobescu, as part of his working visit to Romania, the ministry said in a statement.
The talks focused mainly on the assessment of cooperation and partnership relations between the two countries in various fields, such as trade, energy, training, higher education and agriculture, as well as the functioning of mechanisms supervising the Algerian-Romanian relations, according to the source.
“From an ambitious and pragmatic perspective, the two sides agreed on the objectives and priorities of the bilateral cooperation for the forthcoming period as well as the schedule of the next bilateral events, including the upcoming session of the joint Commission on economic and technical cooperation,” said the source.
The two ministers examined the developments and situation on the regional and international scenes and exchanged views, notably on the Palestinian cause “in light of the terrible tragedy and suffering endured by the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza strip amidst the Security Council’s incapability to assume its responsibility.”
They also “exchanged and shared analyses on the developments in the regions to which belong the two countries,” notably the Ukrainian crisis, the crises in Mali and Niger, and the issue of Western Sahara, added the source.
