DJELFA – Sunday, 29 October 2023 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune inaugurated Sunday in Djelfa the 250 km and 220-kph Boughezoul (Medea)-Djelfa-Laghouat railway line.
The President of the Republic arrived in Djelfa in the morning for a working and inspection visit, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the People’s Army National (ANP), Army General Said Chanegriha, and members of the government, where the civil and military authorities, elected representatives and notables of the province welcomed him.
The Head of State inaugurated this line (North-South) and a multimodal station for the transport of passengers and goods, located in the south-east of the town of Djelfa.
After the inauguration ceremony, the President of the Republic inspected the facilities of the multimodal station on the Djelfa railway line, built to international standards and in a modern architectural style reflecting the proficiency of Algerian companies.
According to the explanations given on-site to the President of the Republic, a railway network 321 km long has been built in the province by 100% Algerian workforce skills, and is expected to significantly contribute to moving this agro-steppe province towards a new stage of sustainable development.
