ALGIERS – Wednesday, 27 September 2023 (APS) – The Speaker of the Council of the Nation Salah Goudjil signed Wednesday on behalf of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the headquarters of Italy’s embassy in Algiers, the book of condolence following the death of former Italian President Giorgio Napolitano.
“It is with great sadness that we learnt about the death of former Italian president Giorgio Napolitano. With his death, Italy has lost a leader and one of the symbols of its national unity. The history will remember that he was a man of State and of dialogue who devoted his life in service of his country, its progress and the defense of peace and social development issues,” wrote Goudjil in the book of condolence.
In these painful circumstances, “I would like to offer, on behalf of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and of Algerian people and government, my heartfelt condolences to the friendly Italian people and government, to the family of the deceased, while expressing our deepest feelings of sympathy and compassion. While renewing our most sincere condolences, I would like to ensure the solidarity and compassion of the Algerian people with the family of deceased and the friendly Italian people,” he added.
