ALGIERS – Wednesday, 19 July 2023 (APS) – The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has offered his sincere condolences and expressed his deep compassion to the families of the victims of the painful road accident that occurred Wednesday morning on the trunk road 1, in the commune of Tamanrasset (1970-km south of Algiers), resulting in the death of 34 people and the injury of 12, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, the presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
“It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the president of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on a State visit to the People’s Republic of China, learned of the terrible road accident in the province of Tamanrasset, in which 34 people were killed and 12 others injured,” the message of condolence said.
“Following the painful accident, President Tebboune extends his sincere condolences and expresses his deep compassion to the families of the victims, praying Almighty Allah to grant the deceased His mercy and give patience and comfort to their families, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”
