BEIJING – Tuesday, 18 July 2023 (APS) – President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune co-chaired Tuesday, in Beijing, with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, the signing ceremony of several cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.
The signing ceremony of these agreements and memoranda of understanding, on several sectors and fields of joint cooperation between Algeria and China, took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, in the presence of members of the two countries’ delegations.
Shortly before, President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune held one-to-one talks with his Chinese counterpart.
Algeria and China signed a cooperation agreement on rail transport, a memorandum of understanding on the creation of a centre for technology transfer, a memorandum of understanding on agriculture, a cooperation framework agreement on telecommunications, a memorandum of understanding on sports, a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of a working group for the economic cooperation and investment, as well as memorandum of understanding on the strengthening of trade cooperation.
The two sides also signed a memorandum of understating between the Chinese Academy for Governance and the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, a memorandum of understating on the technical cooperation in animal and plant quarantine and an executive programme in scientific and space research, in addition to a memorandum of understanding on social development and cooperation in renewable energy and hydrogen.
The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on the strengthening of sustainable urban development, another between the two countries’ institutes of foreign affairs, and a last one between the Council for Algerian Economic Renewal (CREA) and the Chinese National People’s Congress on the strengthening of international trade.
