ALGIERS – Saturday, 10 June 2023 (APS) – Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni, held a working meeting in Caracas with the Venezuelan Minister of Oil, Pedro Tellechea, with whom he discussed the ways in which the two countries could cooperate bilaterally, the ministry said Friday in a statement.
The meeting, attended by executives from both countries and the Algerian ambassador to Venezuela, took place on the occasion of the 4th session of the 4th Algerian-Venezuelan Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, held on 8 and 9 June, according to the source.
The meeting provided an opportunity to “discuss a number of important themes and issues of common interest relating to the development of the energy sector and the recovery of mining activities to ensure the appropriate exploitation of these resources, which have a positive impact on the national economies of both countries, added the source.
The meeting also focused on “ways of strengthening cooperation and bilateral relations between Algeria and Venezuela and examining the investment and partnership opportunities offered by the oil sector, as well as the prospects for its development and exploitation, particularly with regard to the new law on hydrocarbons, which offers a number of advantages and facilities to investors.”
The importance of exchanging expertise and transferring knowledge in the field of energy and mining was also highlighted, in addition to the setting up of mutually beneficial partnerships in Algeria and abroad,” concluded the source.
