ALGIERS – Sunday, 14 May 2023 (APS) – President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune ordered, during the meeting of the Council of Ministers he chaired on Sunday, to develop a new “comprehensive” plan on pilot farms, to be submitted within a month, said the Presidency of the Republic in a statement.
“The President of the Republic has ordered the drafting of a new comprehensive plan, to be submitted within a month at the latest, which would set out a global approach aimed at highlighting the new role of these farms and the legal framework that should govern them and preserve their sustainability across all the country’s regions,” said the source.
President Tebboune said that “the results of the pilot farms project did not meet the requirements of the state.”
The President of the Republic ordered to “transform the pilot farms into nurseries for animal and plant resources, i.e. a locomotive for research and development of the agricultural sector, as part of the national economy development process”, the same source added.
