“This visit to Algeria, he said, aims to express the sincere feelings of the Syrian government, represented by President  Bachar al-Assad, to the Algerian leaders as well as the gratitude of Syria for Algeria’s traditional support, notably as part of the recent events, being the first country to send a professional team which managed to deal with catastrophic effects of the earthquake.”

In this respect, he said that “the two sides have always held consultations on the developments in the region and the world,” adding: “we need to strengthen these relations, because we reflect the sincere vision of the peoples and leaders of the two countries for the development of the relations in all fields, and whatever we say we cannot describe Algeria’s major role at different levels.”

He also underlined his country’s optimism, despite all the challenges and difficulties, affirming that Syria is fighting against terrorism which targeted it, as it targeted Algeria during the black decade.
