ALGIERS – Tuesday, 11 April 2023 (APS) -The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf received a phone call from his Portuguese counterpart, Joao Cravinho with whom he discussed relations between the two countries linked since 2005 by a treaty of friendship, good neighborliness, and cooperation, said the Ministry in a statement.

“The talks focused on the enhancement of cooperation relations between the two countries and the intensification of political dialogue, particularly in anticipation of important bilateral events scheduled in the near future,” said the source.

The two sides also discussed Mediterranean issues of common interest, and welcomed “the convergence of views and positions between the two countries based on their commitment to the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter and their mutual willingness to contribute actively to efforts to resolve the crises and conflicts that threaten peace and security in the region and the world.”
