ALGIERS – Sunday, 09 October 2022 (APS) – Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane on Sunday said the fresh impetus given to relations between Algeria and France will contribute to developing bilateral consultation on topical issues on which there is a convergence of views between Algiers and Paris.
“The new momentum in our relations, inspired by the Declaration of Algiers, will allow us to develop consultation on topical issues, both regional and international,” on which there is a convergence of views between Algiers and Paris, Benabderrahmane said at the opening of the 5th session of the Algerian-French High-Level Intergovernmental Committee.
The session, held at Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Centre, was co-chaired by Prime Minister Aymen Benabderrahmane and his French counterpart, Elisabeth Borne.
With regard to the issues on which there is a convergence of views between Algeria and France, the Premier cited the Euro-Mediterranean dialogue, the Libyan crisis, the situation in the Sahel, counterterrorism and violent extremism.
Benabderrahmane said the 5th session of the Algerian-French High-Level Intergovernmental Committee was an opportunity for the two countries to “establish a roadmap and an agenda for the next common events by 2030, agreed upon by the leaders of the two countries, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Emmanuel Macron, as part of the Declaration of Algiers.”
