ALGIERS – Saturday, 24 September 2022 (APS) – The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired Saturday the opening ceremony of the Government-Walis meeting at the Palace of Nations (Club des Pins, Algiers), themed “Promotion of the National Economy and Local Development.”
The opening ceremony was preceded by reading verses from the Holy Quran and the national anthem.
Scheduled over two days, this new Government-Walis meeting will discuss several topics including “The New Legislation on the Promotion of Investment Climate”, “Financial Reform and Local Taxation” and “The Role of the Wali in Local Economic Development.”
This periodic meeting aims to assess the activities of the Government and the implementation of a roadmap for the follow-up of resolutions taken at the previous meeting, which culminated with 182 recommendations on boosting investment and adaptation of local development programs.
It is also an opportunity to assess the Government’s activity while addressing the shortcomings recorded to achieve the goals assigned in the wake of the introduction of new rules of governance.
